The unique feature about Mirai is that it learns how to behave based on what you've shown in the camera's field of view. Since the camera(s) are used to record the movements you've shown the system, capturing visuals from the correct angles is an important step in the setup process. Optimized camera angles will create the maximum field of view for your system and allow for better training recordings.
When positioning the angle of the cameras keep these two things in mind:
1. The Robot Tool - The gripper should always be visible in the center area of the visual field
2. The Target - the workpiece should always be visible even if you can only see a corner of it in the visual field
The camera should be positioned so that the layout of the workspace is clearly visible. If the object can move around on a flat surface, the camera should ideally be looking straight down over the surface/workpiece.
If you are moving a robot towards the target (for example, an outlet on a vertical wall) the camera should ideally be looking at the wall. Keep in mind however, that you may need to angle the camera in a way that ensures the robot tool is included in the image.
