When you have completed a skill, we recommend occasionally creating a physical backup onto a USB stick to safeguards your footage from possible hardware issues or in the event this data is required for technical support.
Important: Cloud training uploads do not store the data from your skills. To ensures your training footage is retained, you will want to create a backup following the steps outlined below:
Step 1
Go to skill overview and tab on the "menu button."
Step 2
Select "Backup and restore".
Step 3
Use a USB stick formatted for FAT-32. We currently recommend a minimum of 16 GB of available storage space. Plug this into either of the USB ports on the controller box.
Step 4
From the MIRAI App, choose a name for your backup and click "create backup."
Step 5
You should now see a brief pop-up "Backup is in process."
Step 6
Once you backup is complete, you can safely remove the USB drive from the controller. You can verify the backup was successful by choose the "restore backup" tab at the top of the screen. Here you can see all previous backups and their timestamps of successful upload.
Troubleshooting:
I cannot create a backup. The "Create backup" button is not selectable.
Possible causes:
- The USB stick is not fully inserted
- The USB stick is not formatted in FAT format
- A defect on the USB stick or the USB slot
- Not enough available storage space on the USB drive (we recommend 128 GB)
