When updating your Mirai System, there are 3 separate updates that need to be processed to bring your system up-to-date:
Quick Links
Controller Box Software Updates:
MIRAI controller box updates can only be processed by our technical support team. These updates can be delivered over-the-air or using a physical USB stick supplied by our team. To request a software update of your MIRAI controller, start by submitting a new support request through the link at the top on this page.
Over-the-Air: For over-the-air updates, remote access must be granted from the MIRAI Training app paired with the Controller box.
Make sure that all components such as sensors, robots and camera(s) are correctly connected and switched on. Otherwise, it may happen that the skills are displayed grayed out after the update. In this case, turn on all components and restart the MIRAI controller to fix the error.

USB Method: For updates via USB drive, our technical support team can prepare a USB drive with the appropriate software files for your system. We will coordinate a shipment of the physical USB to your preferred address. This is a great option if your operations are security-sensitive or have a poor internet connection. More information on this topic can be found here: Updating Software via USB
For questions about new features and changes feel free to reach out to the technical support team or keep an eye out for our product newsletters sent out via email.
MIRAI Training App Updates:
The mirai Training app is our mobile application designed for Android mobile operating systems. To download the latest version of the MIRAI App, please follow the steps outline in the following get started guide: Installing and Connecting MIRAI Training App
Please Note: This software is not available for download from the google play store.

You may need to re-connect the tablet to the MIRAI controller by searching for and selecting your controller's wifi network from the tablet settings page (e.g. MIRAI-167).
- Enter the WiFi password (found on the label of your MIRAI controller).
- After successful connection, we expect the message "Connected, no internet" to appear (Android Notification), Disregard this prompt. The MIRAI controller and tablet are successfully connected together.
- From a web browser window - enter the following in the address bar:
http://mirai:6543/mint/apk
- Click "Confirm" to begin the download
- Click "Confirm" again to install the MIRAI training app.
For Chrome Users:
You may encounter an additional step when using chrome that requires you to enable downloads from external sources. Follow this prompt to the tablet setting page where it will ask you to “Allow from this Source.” Then click back and install.
URCap Software updates (UR Robots Only):
Using the Universal robots Teach Pendant you can navigate Polyscope to install and update our Micropsi MIRAI URCaps. This software is not changed frequently, however, if you do need an updated copy of the URCaps, these files can be shared via email or physically delivered by mail. Reach out to the technical support team if you would like a copy of the latest version.
For steps to upload the latest URCaps to the UR Teach Pendant, follow the instructions outline in the following guide: Installing the MIRAI URCap Plugin
Important: When running an update for URCaps on Polyscope, any MIRAI Skill nodes in an existing program tree must be removed and re-added in order to be updated successfully.
